In addition, our team develops integrated front-end and back-end applications using the Power Platform and Azure services, ensuring intuitive, mobile-friendly access to business applications and end-to-end process integration across the Microsoft ecosystem.
Primary Functions and Tasks:
Our Microsoft team is entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Architect / Lead Developer to help shape the future of our Business Applications practice. In this role, you will guide a talented Business Central technical team in designing, developing, and optimizing AL extensions that enhance Business Central functionality—all while championing modern development standards and cloud‑first architecture.
Location: Portugal
As a Technical Architect, you will:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Business Central technical team.
Define, implement, and enforce technical standards and best practices.
Architect end‑to‑end Business Central solutions that support scalability and long‑term maintainability.
Oversee integrations, custom extensions, and solution performance.
Contribute to pre‑sales activities, scoping, and solution design.
Develop and maintain AL extensions for Microsoft Business Central, ensuring modularity and upgradeability.
Support legacy Dynamics NAV environments using C/AL while clients transition toward Business Central Online.
Collaborate closely with Functional Consultants, Solution Architects, and Project Managers.
Translate functional design specifications into high‑quality technical designs.
Build integrations between Business Central and third‑party systems using APIs, file-based methods, and Azure Functions (including AIS).
Maintain clean, well‑documented code and deliver technical documentation for customizations and integrations.
Support quality assurance efforts and testing activities throughout project lifecycles.
Monitor and optimize system and code performance.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment processes to ensure delivery excellence.
Stay current with Business Central product updates, development practices, and the platform roadmap.
We are looking for:
We’re looking for a detail‑oriented, technically strong problem‑solver with a passion for both technology and business optimization. You should bring curiosity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and functional teams.
Deep experience with D365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.
Strong expertise in AL development and the Business Central extension framework.
Solid understanding of Azure services and the Power Platform.
Proven experience in technical leadership and architectural design.
Hands-on development experience in C/AL and AL for NAV and Business Central.
In‑depth understanding of Business Central architecture, including object ranges, licensing, and extension management.
Extensive experience with Git, code review processes, and modern development workflows.
Knowledge of widely used Business Central apps such as Continia and Tasklet.
Understanding of core ERP processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, Manufacturing).
Working knowledge of SQL Server and database management.
Experience with NAV server configuration, service tier setup, and user management.
Ideally, hands-on experience upgrading NAV versions to Business Central Online.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (Microsoft or equivalent).
